Frequently Asked Questions

No, we cannot.   Children First ABA Clinic provides ABA therapy after a client has received a medical diagnosis of autism.  At this time, Children First ABA Clinic does not have the appropriate staff to provide a diagnosis.

While our first step with any client is an assessment, this is not a diagnosing assessment.  An ABA assessment is used to investigate your child’s strengths, weaknesses, and interests for the development of a treatment plan.

Please contact your pediatrician and/or insurance company for professionals in our area that can evaluate and provide a diagnosis for your child.

Children First ABA Clinic specializes in behavioral therapy for clients diagnosed with autism, developmental delays and other special circumstances.  We do not provide play therapy, talk therapy, or mental health counseling.

Autism is a lifelong developmental disability that effects behavior, socialization and communication.

The goal of ABA therapy is not to cure autism.  Rather we help children develop their individual toolkits so they may positively interact with their environment with the least amount of frustration, giving them greater potential to live a fulfilling life.

Our services are clinic based.  As autism is a disorder of social awareness and interaction, we believe therapy works best where there is a variety of individuals and situations that allow the generalization of learned behavior.  Therefore, we do not provide in-home therapy.

Children First ABA Clinic serves children (age 2) through adults (age 21) who have a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder and/or other developmental disabilities.

At Children First ABA Clinic we use a team-based approach. Each child is assigned to a therapist or a team of therapists, depending on the child’s individual need.  Each child will also have a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst who oversees the treatment.  Daily data and the program goals are reviewed regularly by our Behavior Analysts and the interventions are adjusted as needed to help each child meet their individualized goals.

With permission from the caregiver, we may consult with other service providers your child may receive services from on a case-by-case basis.
